#1 Inspecting your bird

Remember a good bird mount starts with a great bird. If you down a bird you think you want to mount, hand retrieve it. Grab it by the bill or feet do not put it on a strap.  Once you have inspected your bird handle with care. place in a big and secure.  

#2 Wrap and freeze your bird

Once you get home make sure its cool and wipe off any excess blood and water with a paper towel. Wrap the head and feet with a wet paper towel, lay the head on its back and put in a ziplock or in a trash bag and roll it up hand tight getting as much air out as possible. Finally wrap painters tape around bag to secure and write info on bag. 

#3 shipping your bird

Getting ready to ship. Wrap frozen bird in bubble wrap and place in a Styrofoam cooler with ice packs and tape cooler closed.  place cooler in a cardboard box and fill access space with any kind of filler. Before sealing the box add your MIGRATORY Bird Tag and any pictures or info concerning mounting instructions.  

Ship out on Mondays ONLY by FEDEX or UPS only to avoid weekend delays.
